Taxation and Oppression

If duties are too high, they lessen the consumption; the collection is eluded; and the product to the treasury is not so great as when they are confined within proper and moderate bounds. This forms a complete barrier against any material oppression of the citizens by taxes of this class, and is itself a natural limitation of the power of imposing them.

Hamilton speaks of taxation back in 1787 saying that it is bad for the economy when they are high. These higher taxes would create an oppression over the people and make them consume less and less. Which starves the economy. Then would inevitably lead it into a recession/depression. We need to take the words of our founding fathers into great consideration. You might ask why should I that was like 200+ years ago. Well WAKE UP! You should, these people started this great nation because they left a life back in England that was oppressive, militaristic, monarchy, and created high taxation on the people. There was no power to the people of England. They came to American to give the power back to the people. By picking who they want in power so they can keep taxes low, have a strong military to protect the land and not to ravage the people who inhabit it. They wanted a free today but also a freer tomorrow. This has gone backwards in today's society. Taxation is high, competition is falling due to the lack of consumption, the government has stopped listening to the people and has gone to do what they think is best and not what is there constituents views. But in the end it is our fault as a nation for electing these people into office who have lied to us over the past decades. We should be doing the research our selves about the candidates we want to elect, not letting us tell them these lies that are paid for by big business. Because in the end the businesses control the politician and the way they govern not the people anymore.

Freedom

People come to this country and expect things to be free because it is called "The Land of the Free". This is far from the truth, we have other freedoms that allow us to prosper more 99% of most countries. We have things like freedom of speech, free working capitalist markets we can enter to make ourselves more prosperous. We can actually go to a voting booth and not be harassed or march in the streets with out getting shot at because we disagree with "Big Brother". People who live and come here need to realize that America was never free, meaning giving things away. It is rich with freedom in many other ways that many other countries don't have. That is why they envy us so much. This is why we always targeted and we must fight to keep it. The founding fathers said it back than and we say it till this day. God Bless America.

Big Government

Take this quote and analyze it. It's from a man who knows this country well. He is one of the founding fathers and a brilliant man at that. He helped build this country from the ground up.

Is are Government letting us do this today? Maybe to a certain degree but nothing like our founding fathers would approve of! Comment on this quote, live it breathe it. This is what American should be and not what it has become.
